CLAT- Common Law Admission Test 2008 on May 11, 2008 NEW
All India Common Law Entrance Test from next Year
The top seven national law universities have decided to centralize their Admissions by holding a Common Law Entrance Test. 2008 onwards, law school aspirants will have to sit for a single common entrance test (CET) for admission to law universities at Bangalore, Bhopal, Raipur, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Gandhinagar and Kolkata.
The decision to have a common examination comes after a Supreme Court directive gave the ministry of human resources development the mandate to set up a centralised exam last year. The CET is likely to streamline the admission process in all seven law universities.
Law Aspirants can now take a sigh of relief as earlier, they had to shell out Rs 1000/- to Rs 1500 for each university's Law Entrance Test, Now they just need to make a one time payment and Prepare for a single Law entrace exam and not seven. Around 20,000 applicants are expected to take the CET for national law colleges next year.
Ranking of Law Universities will be done by seniority. NLSIU Bangalore tops the list followed by NALSAR Hyderabad
