Program Overview

  • PGD-HP was launched at Public Health Foundation of India in 2011 with support of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and with technical inputs from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California
  • The program aims to build understanding of concepts of health promotion in participants, particularly enhancing their skills and proficiency in designing and implementation of health promotion programs

Course Design and Duration

  • The total duration of the course is One Year and it’s an online distance learning program
  • Apart from learning core concepts of health promotion, based on their background and career goals, PGD-HP students can choose from Oral Health Promotion, Maternal and Child Health Promotion, Prevention and Control of NCDs and Tobacco Control for specialized concept learning during 3 months elective component

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Public health / Medicine/ Dentistry/ Nursing/ Pharmacy/ Psychology/ Biological Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Allied Health Sciences or equivalent

Course outline: 30 Credits
Course Fee

  • The course fee is Rs.36000/- for Indian candidates. The international candidates will have to pay an amount of USD 1200 towards their course fee
  • This fee is inclusive of complimentary reading material provided during the course work and is non-refundable
