Doctoral, Masters Programs Admission 2012

Doctoral Program (Architecture and Planning): The Doctoral program at the school is conceived to encourage independent and interdisciplinary research that has relevance to the present needs of social, cultural and environmental sustenance

To keep pace with the expanding horizons of knowledge, the program provides a research environment that has strong theoretical grounding and looks for application of knowledge to develop solutions that focus on issues relating to settlements and habitat

Eligibility: Master’s or equivalent degree in Architecture/Planning with a good academic record

All candidates have to appear in a written entrance examination

Master in Planning (Urban and Regional Planning): The school offers a two year post graduate degree program in Urban and Regional Planning which aims at developing students as planning professionals who would assist communities, organizations and policymakers to respond to the diverse challenges of India’s rapid path of urbanization and search for innovative and sustainable solutions for cities and regions

Eligibility: Minimum 55% marks in aggregate in B.Arch/B.Plan or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or M.Sc/M.A. in (Geography/Economics/Sociology)

Master in Architecture (Urban Design): The urban design program at SPA Bhopal aims to imbibe the knowledge to the students so as to invent newer approaches to the issue of urbanity in Indian and Asian cities through process of collaboration and amalgamation between the disciplinary of Architecture and Planning

Urban Design program at SPA, Bhopal is a four semester course of two years duration, leading to a degree of Master of Architecture in Urban Design

Eligibility: B.Arch with minimum 55% marks in aggregate

Fellowship: The School has provision for Doctoral and Master’s Fellowships for full time candidates

To be considered for fellowship, a candidate should have a valid GATE/NET score or Govt/Non-Govt Fellowship/Scholarship

Candidates not having a valid GATE/NET score or Govt/Non-Govt Fellowship/Scholarship can be considered for award of institute fellowship if they have minimum of two years of work experience

Application Forms: Application forms along with information brochure will be available from 15th April, 2012 on cash payment of Rs 100/-

The application forms can also be downloaded from the website of School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal www.spabhopal.ac.in

Completed application form should be accompanied by a demand draft of Rs 1000/- drawn on a nationalized bank in favor of Director, SPA Bhopal, payable at Bhopal

The SC/ST/PwD candidates are required to send a demand draft of Rs 500/-

Date of interview and examination: 14th-15th June, 2012

Last date of admission: 30th June, 2012

Classes commence: 16th July, 2012
