PG Diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing (2010-11)

Why should you join: Geographic information systems popularly known as GIS, is a rapidly growing technological field for resource planning and management. It has wide applications in almost all the fields of infrastructure development like land use planning, utilities management, landscape assessment and planning, transportation and infrastructure planning, real estate analysis, telecommunications, power transmission and distribution and many other applications. GIS and remote sensing (RS) have already influenced us in almost every aspect of life

The main aim of the course is to create a pool of trained manpower readily available for recruitment in various utilities working on GIS and remote sensing fields

About the course: This is a 50 weeks full time PG programme launched by NPTI in association with consulting engineering services (India) Private Limited (CES), comprising of various modules in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing to address the emerging needs of the industries. The course has been designed with an optimum blend of theory and practical. The theory provides a sound knowledge base to cover basic concepts supplemented by rich exposure to various domains through industry experts for applications development. On the other hand, adequate classroom practical exercise supplemented by proper on-job-training in various industries, would prepare the students to match the industry demands in GIS profession

Eligibility: Graduates or Post-graduates in Science/Geography/Geology/Agriculture/ Environmental/ computer sciences/computer applications

Placement: To provide career opportunities, NPTI and CES Technologies private limited shall maintain close linkages with various reputed companies for employment
