About the course: This course is of one year duration (2 semesters) and covers all aspects of operation and Maintenance of Thermal Power Plants and includes 2 weeks Simulator Training at Faridabad/Nagpur
Formal coaching shall be held at the Regional Institute of NPTI, located at Durgapur (West Bengal)
On-job training is conducted at the nearby Power Stations
The course authorizes the Diploma Holders to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated sub-stations
Eligibility: Three years Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/ Instrumentation from a recognized technical board of the state/central Govt with minimum of 60% marks with I class/I grade)
Graduate engineers are not eligible
Age limit: 27 years as on 01st January, 2012
No age limit for sponsored candidates
Total seats: 72(seventy two) provisional
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged and other categories is applicable as per Govt of India norms for non-sponsored candidates
25% seats are reserved for sponsored candidates from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 65% marks in Diploma with Class I/I Grade
Placement: NPTI maintains close linkage with Power Utilities for employment of non-sponsored candidates only
NPTI will not take any efforts for placement of sponsored candidates
How to apply: Application are to be filled on-line with demand draft(DD for prescribed registration fees of Rs 800/- in favour of NPTI (ER) payable at Durgapur, must be ready at the time of on line registration)

This ID must be preserved for future reference
On registration the hard copy along with testimonials (refer website) and demand draft should be sent to the Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (ER), City Centre, Durgapur-713216, West Bengal along with two copies of latest passport size photograph, one with application form and other staple with application form (with name and ID written on back side) latest by 12th January, 2012 by speed post/registered post only
