PG Admission Notification for M.Tech in Nano-science and Technology 2010-11

Eligibility: Admission is open to the candidates from any recognized university who have passed B.E./ B.Tech in any branch or M.Sc in any branch with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% in case of SC/ST), and Mathematics at +2 level

A careful consideration of subject specialization in Engineering/Science degree will be taken into account if large numbers of applications are received

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters in which last semester is devoted to project/research work)

Number of seats: 25 seats (10 seats for engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech) and 10 seats for degree in science (M.Sc) + 05 seats are reserved for candidates sponsored by Industries/ Institutes

Fellowship: All the 20 students will be provided with a monthly stipend of Rs 5000/- and yearly contingency of Rs 25000/- (candidates sponsored by Industries/Institutes are not eligible for Fellowship)

Fee: For general students Rs 45,183/- for Ist year and Rs 42,007/- for IInd year. For Cat-I and SC/ST students Rs 10,371/- for Ist year and Rs 7,195/- for IInd year (fee can be paid in installments)

Admission criterion: Merit list will be prepared based on valid GATE score. If the seats remain vacant after admitting students with valid GATE score, then admission for vacant seats shall be made based on marks obtained in their respective qualified degrees (50%) and entrance test/ interview conducted by the expert committee constituted by the Dept (50%)

One can also get the application form and prospectus by post by sending a demand draft (as detailed above), along with a self addressed envelope (22cm x 30cm) duly affixing a postal stamp of Rs 40/- addressed to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Kuvempu University, Jnana Sahyadri, Shankaraghatta-577451. The cover should be super scribed with application for admission to Nano-science and Technology course
