ENTRANCE TEST NOTICE FOR ADMISSION TO B.Sc (HONS) BIOTECHNOLOGY AND M.Sc (BIOTECHNOLOGY) COURSE IN PRIVATE INSTITUTES AFFILIATD TO HP UNIVERSITY IN SHIMLA.

The details of the Institutes are as under: 1. Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management, Solan, Distt Solan (For B.Sc (Hons) & M.Sc (Biotech); 2. Bhojia Institute of Life Sciences, Budh (Baddi) Teh. Nalagarh Distt. Solan (For B.Sc (Hons) & M.Sc (Biotech); 3. Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib, Distt. Sirmaur (For B.Sc (Hons) Biotech); 4. Abhilashi Institute of Biotechnology, Tanda P.O. Balt, Distt Mandi (For B.Sc (Hons) Biotech).

 For Subsidised and Non- Subsidised seats the Seats the candidates should consult the prospectus. Subsidised merit seats will be H.P. Bonafide / Domicile candidates who have passed their qualifying examinations from the schools/State Universities located in Himachal Pradesh. Non- Subsidised seats will be filled from H.P./ Non H.P. Candidates on the basis of this test will be held in the University Campus at Shimla.

 

 

Age: For B.Sc (Hons) Biotechnology the candidates should not be more than 22 years in age as on 1 st July 2007. For M.Sc (Biotechnology), the male candidates should not be more than 26 Years in age female candidates should not be more than 28 years in age as on 1 st July 2007.

Educational Qualification: For B.Sc (Hons) Biotechnology the candidates should have passed 10+2 (Class twelfth) Examination or its equivalent from recognised Board/ University with any of the three subjects out of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biotech, Computer Science and Biology with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade. (For SC/ST candidate’s marks of eligibility will be 45% or Equivalent grade).

For M.Sc (Biotechnology) the candidates should have passed Bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern of Education on Physical Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/ Technology, 4 years B.S (Physician Assistant course) or Medicine, Agricultural Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/ Technology, 4 years B.S (Physician Assistant Course) or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks for general and other categories and 50% for SC/ST categories candidates form any University/ Institute recognised by the Himachal Pradesh University/UGC.

The Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination by whose results so far have not been declared can also apply but their eligibility for the Entrance Test will be purely Provisional Subject to the condition that they have to produce passing certificate scoring the percentage at least prescribed there to in the qualifying exams during the day counseling.

Procedure for obtaining the prospectus: The prospectus containing details and prescribed application form will be available at the University Counter of H.P. University, Shimla w.e.f. 20-06-2007 on cash payment of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. One Thousand only) for SC/ST candidates the price of the prospectus at Counter shall be Rs. 500/- A Copy of the prospectus can also be obtained through Registered post by remitting Rs. 1100/- (Rs. one thousand one hundred only) (Rs. 600/- in Shimla, Money Orders will not be accepted. The cost of prospectus also includes the test fee. The request for supply of prospectus by post be addressed to The Deputy Registrar (Entrance Tests Cell), H.P. University, Summer Hill, Shimla. 171005, H.P. along with two self-addressed and properly gummed stickers. No request for sending the prospectus by post will be entertained after 30-06-2007. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay or mis placement or loss of the prospectus in transit. The candidates are advised to procure the prospectus well in time. Prospectus shall be available from the aforesaid Institutes.

Last Date for Submission of Application Form: The last date for submission of application form complete in all respect in the University office is 5-7-2007.

Issue of Roll Number: The Roll Numbers to eligible candidates will be issued by hand on 12.7.2007 & 13-7-2007 during office hours in the office of the Dy. Registrar (Ent.Tests), Room No. 10, Administrative Block, HP. University, shimla-5, The Candidates are advised to procure their Roll Numbers well in time.

All disputes are subject to legal jurisdiction of Courts at Shimla only pertaining to B.Sc (Hons) Biotechnology and M.SC Biotechnology entrance Tests.
