Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to M.Tech (week end) programmes in Engineering Design, Power Management, VLSI and Communication System and MCA (full time) programme conducted by Anna University of Technology Madurai at its campus at Madurai

Evaluation test: 12.09.2010

Cost of application: Rs 500/- and Rs 125/- in the case of SC/ST candidates of Tamil Nadu to be paid in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of Vice-chancellor, Anna University of Technology Madurai, payable at Madurai. The demand draft shall be issued by any nationalized or scheduled bank

Eligibility: The programme is intended to upgrade the knowledge and skills of those who are already employed in govt departments, public sector and in private sector

The minimum educational qualification for admission to the programme shall be as follows

M.Tech Engineering Design: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Production/Industrial/ Mechatronics/ Manufacturing Engineering/Automobile Engineering)

M.Tech Power Management: B.E./B.Tech (EEE/I&C/E&I)

M.Tech VLSI: B.E./B.Tech (EEE/ECE/E&I/I&C/CSE/IT/Computer Technology/Software Engineering)

M.Tech Communication System: B.E./B.Tech (CSE/ECE/IT/EI) or MCA

Duration of the programme: Minimum duration of the programme two years (four semesters), maximum duration of the programme four years

Class hours: Classes will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays in the University campus at Madurai

Mode of selection: The selection will be made based on evaluation test and with weightage for employment experience

Documents to be enclosed with application: Only photo copies of the certificates for proof of qualification and employment experience need to be enclosed to the application

Evaluation scheme: Evaluation of candidates shall be done by means of an objective test to be conducted at Madurai on 12.09.2010. The test shall consist of the following parts

Part I Mathematics (Common to all candidates) 30 questions

Part II Basic Engineering and Sciences (Common to all candidates) 30 questions

Part III Separate tests of fundamentals of the subjects relevant to the M.Tech specialization 40 questions

While evaluating the answers, one mark is awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 is deducted for each wrong answer. No deduction will be made for questions left un-answered. Multiple shading will be considered as wrong answer and 1/3 mark will be deducted

MCA programme (full time)

Medium: English

Eligibility: The programme is intended to provide intensive training to develop computer applications for multifarious objects

Candidates possessing the following qualifications are eligible for admission to the programme; a degree under the pattern of either the 11+2+2 years or the 11+1+3 years or the 10+2+3 years or under the open university system will be eligible for admission to MCA (full time) programme

Duration of the programme: Minimum duration of the programme three years (six semesters); maximum duration of the programme six years

Class hours: Classes will be conducted on all week days in the forenoon and afternoon at the university campus at Madurai

Mode of selection: The selection will be made based on TANCET score only, subject to rule of reservation prescribed by the govt of Tamil Nadu

Documents to be enclosed with application: Only photo copies of the certificates for proof of qualification, age and community need to be enclosed to the application

Details of fee to be paid: The fees shall be remitted by the University fee payment challan in Madurai Chokkikulam branch of the Bank of Baroda

Submission of application: Separate application for MCA (full time)/M.Tech (week end) shall be submitted

Only one application shall be submitted by the candidate for M.Tech programme irrespective of the branches opted under M.Tech (week end) programmes

Completed application form along with the enclosures shall be sent to the Vice-chancellor, Anna University of Technology Madurai, Alagar Kovil Road, Madurai-625002 so as to reach before 5.00 p.m. on 06.09.2010
