Be prepared to be videotaped in CET

March 12, 2006 Times of India

CHANDIGARH: Watch out if you are appearing in the PU's Common Entrance Test (CET) this year! You'll be videotaped at the exam centre. This step, which is meant to curb impersonation, is among the many decisions the syndicate took on Saturday.

To make the system transparent, question papers will be put on the university website on the next day of the examination. Answers will also be put on lineone day before the declaration of result.

While this will enable the students to evaluate themselves, it will also help in checking anomalies. The university conducts CET for admission to BSc (honours) in various streams and BA LLB. The number of candidates appearing in CET is in thousands.

The syndicate also decided that students of professional courses would have to pay 10% more fee this time. The hike will be applicable to the general- category seats in MBA, three-year law course, MPharma, BPharma and Chemical Engineering. NRI seats will not be affected by it.
