Intake Capacity
Subject to further review by University authorities, the University proposes to admit up to and not exceeding 160 students this year. However it has the discretion to determine the intake level depending on the comparative merits of available candidates or for any other operational reasons. 15% of the seats will be reserved for S.C. candidates, 7.5% for S.T. candidates, 3% for physically disabled candidates and 10% for candidates belonging to the State of Gujarat . A horizontal reservation of 30% of seats has also been made in favour of girl students, cutting across all the above categories (There will be no special reservation for foreign candidates or NRI candidates). But should any of these quotas stand unfilled; the seats so unfilled will then be available for candidates from the Wait List.
The Wait List shall be part of the general Rank List that stays in place after the regular selection process. It shall lapse 15 days after the last date prescribed for admission through regular selection process.
The University reserves the right not to offer any one stream of (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.) LL.B. (Honours) Programme if a sufficient number of students have not been found qualified for the stream. Allocation of streams will be strictly based on the performance of students in the first semester. Thus a candidate’s preference for a stream expressed in the Application Form will not bind the University to offer admission into the preferred stream.
Note:
The Academic Council has the discretion to review the above Admission Criteria and Procedure, including the intake capacity, and sufficiency of the number of students for the running of each of the three undergraduate degree course.
