Admission Notification

MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS PROGRAMME – 2006

At Mesra, Allahabad , Jaipur, Kolkata, Lalpur and Noida

Applications are invited in prescribed forms for admission to full-time Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme 2006-2009, at Mesra and Extension Centres at Allahabad , Jaipur, Kolkata, Lalpur and Noida.

 

The 3-year full-time Master in Computer Applications (MCA) programme of the Institute is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation of the AICTE. The number of seats at our various Centres is as below.

Eligibility: Graduate (10+2+3 system) with Mathematics / Statistics / Business Mathematics / Computer Science or Computer Applications either at Graduation or Intermediate / 10+2 level, with at least 50% aggregate marks at graduate level, and at least 45% for SC / ST candidates.

 

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be shortlisted through an Entrance Test, which will be held on 7 th May 2006 .  It is proposed to hold the MCA Entrance Test at the following Test Centres - Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, New Delhi, Patna and Ranchi - provided there are sufficient number of candidates at each of the given Test Centres. In case the number of candidates opting for a Test Centre is less than a certain minimum, the Institute reserves the right to shift candidates to the nearest alternative Centre. Interviews will be held in June 2006 at our campus at Mesra, and our Extension Centres at Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata and Noida. Selections will be based on performance in the Entrance Test, previous academic record and interviews.

 

How to Apply: The MCA 2006 Information Brochure and set of two application forms can be obtained in person from30January to 6 March 2006, from all our Centres during working hours , on payment bycrossed Bank Draft for Rs. 1,200/-in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra payable at Ranchi. Postal requests with a letter mentioning the course applied for must be sent with a crossed Bank Draft ofRs. 1,250/- and two self-addressed slips of paper (10 x 10 cm) with your name and address in block capitals and your telephone number to reach before 3 March 2006. Write MCA 2006 on the envelope.A c andidate may use the set of forms to apply for more than one Centre.

Candidates must send completed application forms to Dean Admissions, BIT Mesra or deposit at that office or at BIT Extension Centre, Lalpur, by 7 th March 2006.

Candidates appearing for their final examinations may also apply. Selected candidates must produce proof of passing their qualifying examinations with requisite minimum marks by 31.08.2006.
